In a strategic move to tap into Thailand’s growing demand for affordable and accessible accommodation, Centara Hotels & Resorts has partnered with PTT Oil and Retail Business Public Company Limited (OR) to introduce a new integrated budget hotel concept across the country. The initiative marks Centara’s entry into the budget hospitality segment while strengthening OR’s ecosystem of travel and retail services.
The joint venture involves an investment of approximately THB 700 million, with Centara holding a 51% stake and OR 49%, reflecting a strong collaborative commitment to expanding Thailand’s hospitality infrastructure.
As part of the first phase, the partners plan to develop six budget hotels between 2027 and 2028 in key destinations including Bangkok, Phuket, Chon Buri, Ayutthaya, Kanchanaburi, and Songkhla. These properties will be strategically located adjacent to PTT service stations, leveraging OR’s extensive network of over 2,000 locations nationwide to provide convenient access for travellers.
Designed to cater to modern travellers, road trippers, and business commuters, the hotels will offer clean, safe, and comfortable accommodation at affordable price points. Room capacities are expected to range between 69 to 120 rooms, with pricing starting from approximately THB 800–1,300 per night, depending on the location.
Beyond accommodation, the concept integrates hospitality with retail, dining, EV charging, and convenience services available at PTT stations, creating a seamless travel experience. The partnership will also combine loyalty programmes, including CentaraThe1, The 1, and OR’s Blue Plus, reaching a combined membership base of over 40 million users.
From an industry perspective, this initiative reflects a shift towards integrated travel ecosystems, where accessibility, affordability, and convenience are becoming key drivers of growth. It also supports Thailand’s broader tourism strategy by enhancing infrastructure for both domestic and regional travellers. With this expansion, Centara and OR aim to redefine budget hospitality in Thailand, offering a new model that combines strategic location, affordability, and integrated services, while contributing to the overall growth of the country’s travel and tourism sector.
