Messe Frankfurt Trade Fairs India Pvt Ltd has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Department of Textiles and Guidance Tamil Nadu, Government of Tamil Nadu, to establish a new edition of the Techtextil India Summit in Coimbatore. The MoU was signed on 25 November 2025 during the Tamil Nadu Rising Investment Summit, in the presence of Thiru M. K. Stalin, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. The first edition of the Techtextil India Summit Coimbatore is scheduled to take place from 26 to 27 November 2026 at CODISSIA, Coimbatore.

The agreement formalises the introduction of a Tamil Nadu edition of the Techtextil India Summit, which will be organised in Coimbatore on a biennial basis starting in 2026. The initiative is intended to create a structured knowledge platform for technical textiles, nonwovens and composites, supporting collaboration, technology exchange and sectoral growth.

Under the partnership, Messe Frankfurt Trade Fairs India will conceptualise, curate and deliver five editions of the Techtextil India Summit in Tamil Nadu over the coming years. As part of the global Techtextil brand, the platform will connect Indian manufacturers, MSMEs, technology providers and researchers with international industry networks and best practices.

The summit is expected to strengthen linkages between industry, academia and government agencies, while creating opportunities for MSMEs, research institutions and emerging technology developers. Key state and institutional stakeholders including SIDCO, TIDCO, TANSIDCO, SITRA, PSG Tech and Anna University are expected to be part of the ecosystem supporting the event.

The first two editions of Techtextil India Summit Coimbatore will be held in a confex format, combining conferences and focused exhibitions, with the aim of evolving into a full-scale trade fair from the third edition onward.

The initiative is designed to support Tamil Nadu’s transition from its strong base in spinning, weaving and knitwear into higher-value technical and functional textiles, which are increasingly used in sectors such as infrastructure, healthcare, mobility, agriculture and defence.

Techtextil India Summit forms part of Messe Frankfurt’s Texpertise Network, which connects the global textile value chain through more than 60 trade fairs across 13 countries, covering research, yarns, fabrics, apparel, home textiles and technical textiles.
