The global association representing the attractions industry, IAAPA, has announced that the inaugural IAAPA Expo Middle East will not proceed as originally scheduled, following a decision by its Board of Directors.
The decision comes amid the evolving situation in the Middle East, with the association emphasizing that the safety and well-being of its members, exhibitors, attendees, partners, and stakeholders remain its top priority.
The Board’s resolution follows extensive consultations with key industry stakeholders, including the IAAPA EMEA Regional Advisory Board, IAAPA EMEA Manufacturers & Suppliers Committee, the MENALAC Board of Directors, as well as exhibitors, speakers, and regional members.
Commenting on the development, Jakob Wahl, President and CEO of IAAPA, stated that the decision was made after careful consideration. He acknowledged the time, investment, and commitment of members and partners who were preparing for the inaugural edition and expressed appreciation for their understanding as the association prioritizes the interests of its global community.
IAAPA has confirmed that it will directly communicate with exhibitors, sponsors, speakers, and registered attendees regarding the next steps and support measures.
Despite the postponement, the association has reaffirmed its long-term commitment to the Middle East’s growing attractions and leisure industry. The IAAPA Expo Middle East is now scheduled to take place from April 12 to 15, 2027, with the aim of convening the industry under more stable conditions.
