The Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) and the German Convention Bureau (GCB) have announced a strategic partnership aimed at enhancing the planning and execution of global business events. This collaboration integrates PCMA’s AI-powered platform, Destinaitor, with GCB’s Open Data MICE Germany initiative, combining advanced artificial intelligence with structured, machine-readable data to provide event strategists with comprehensive, real-time insights into global destinations.
Destinaitor, developed by PCMA in partnership with dFakto, leverages large language models to curate and analyze destination and venue information. Through collaborations with data partners like Tempest and Simpleview, the platform enables event planners to compare multiple destinations based on verified, objective data. A notable feature is its Request for Proposal (RFP) optimizer, which analyzes planners’ RFPs and suggests matching destinations, streamlining the decision-making process.
The GCB’s Open Data MICE Germany initiative systematically captures and structures MICE-related data from across Germany’s business events landscape in an open, machine-readable format. By linking this information within a semantic knowledge graph, the initiative enables AI-driven tools to make smarter, faster, and more sustainable event planning decisions. Under the new agreement, German destinations participating in Open Data MICE will contribute their structured data to Destinaitor, enhancing both the depth of global destination data available through the platform and the international visibility of Germany as a premier meetings and conventions destination.
This partnership marks a significant step toward a more connected, transparent, and data-driven business events ecosystem. By combining the strengths of open data and AI, PCMA and GCB aim to provide event strategists with the tools needed to make informed decisions, ultimately driving economic and social progress through business events.
