Hamburg Messe und Congress (HMC) has announced a strategic partnership with Messe Berlin Asia Pacific (MB APAC) to expand the global reach of its flagship WindEnergy Hamburg trade fair into the Asia-Pacific region, with Singapore selected as the regional hub.

The collaboration will debut with the RECHARGE Wind Power Summit Asia-Pacific, powered by WindEnergy Hamburg, scheduled to take place on May 19–20, 2026, at the Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre. The two-day summit will serve as a high-level platform for policymakers, utilities, manufacturers, suppliers, investors, and other stakeholders across the wind energy value chain.

Building on this launch, a larger WindEnergy Asia-Pacific, powered by RECHARGE’s flagship fair, will follow in 2027 and 2029 as a three-day exhibition and conference targeting the rapidly growing wind energy market in the region.

The initiative is supported by Singapore government agencies Enterprise Singapore and the Singapore Tourism Board, underlining the city-state’s ambition to position itself as a regional hub for clean energy dialogue and innovation. A Memorandum of Understanding for the projects was signed during the RECHARGE Wind Power Summit in Hamburg in November 2025.

Under the agreement, Messe Berlin Asia Pacific will manage event implementation and operations in Singapore, leveraging its regional infrastructure and expertise. HMC and DN Media Group (organiser of RECHARGE) will retain exclusive ownership of the event brands and concepts.

Claus Ulrich Selbach, Vice-President Exhibitions at HMC, said Asia-Pacific plays a critical role in the global energy transition, describing Singapore as an ideal base to engage the region. Katrina Leung, Managing Director and Vice-President Asia Pacific at Messe Berlin, said the partnership would help deliver a high-quality platform tailored to regional industry needs.

Preparations for the 2026 Singapore summit are underway, with further details to be announced. Meanwhile, WindEnergy Hamburg will return from September 22–25, 2026, hosting around 1,600 exhibitors and 43,000 participants from 40 countries.
