IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with Club Chaulani Ltd. to develop Holiday Inn Dhangadhi, a new 115-room hotel in Dhangadhi, Nepal, marking the global hospitality group’s first footprint in Sudurpashchim Province. The property is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2028, reflecting IHG’s strategic focus on expanding into high-potential, underserved markets across South Asia.

The hotel will be situated in the heart of Dhangadhi within a mixed-use development, approximately 8.5 km from Dhangadhi Airport, close to the India–Nepal border, placing it in an advantageous position to serve business travellers, government officials, transit guests and tourists. Its location makes it a vital hospitality hub for cross-border trade and regional tourism, appealing to visitors exploring nearby attractions like Shuklaphanta National Park, Ghodaghodi Lake and Shivpuri Temple.

Holiday Inn Dhangadhi will feature 115 well-appointed guest rooms alongside a range of amenities designed for both leisure and business guests. The hotel is planned to offer four food and beverage outlets, including an all-day dining restaurant, a pool bar and a specialty restaurant, ensuring a variety of culinary experiences for visitors. In addition, the property will provide versatile meeting and event spaces, including a ballroom, making it suitable for conferences, corporate functions and social gatherings. Leisure facilities will include a fully equipped fitness centre and a swimming pool, enhancing the overall guest experience.

According to Sudeep Jain, Managing Director, South West Asia at IHG Hotels & Resorts, the signing reflects confidence in Dhangadhi’s growth potential as an emerging hospitality market driven by improving infrastructure, rising domestic travel and increased cross-border activity. He noted that the hotel will cater to the evolving demands of both domestic and regional travellers, ensuring a strong position for the brand in this emerging destination.

Dr. Rajendra K.C., Chairman of Club Chaulani Ltd., highlighted the partnership as an opportunity to bring a globally recognised hospitality brand to western Nepal, aligning with Dhangadhi’s transformation as an important commercial and tourism gateway. He expressed optimism that Holiday Inn Dhangadhi will deliver a high-quality stay backed by IHG’s global expertise and consistent service standards.

The signing of Holiday Inn Dhangadhi represents a significant milestone in IHG’s South Asia expansion strategy, reinforcing its commitment to building branded hospitality in emerging markets while contributing to the region’s economic and tourism growth.
