In a significant move to deepen bilateral cooperation in the digital economy, the Services Export Promotion Council (SEPC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA) in New Delhi on March 25, 2026. The agreement aims to strengthen collaboration in digital technologies, IT services, and innovation-driven sectors, marking a new phase in India-Vietnam economic engagement.

Under the MoU, both organisations will work closely to promote trade and investment in IT and services, facilitate business delegations and B2B meetings, and enable the exchange of market intelligence and policy information. The partnership is also designed to support companies from both countries in identifying collaboration opportunities and expanding into new markets.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Nguyen Thi Thu Giang, Vice Chairwoman and Secretary General of VINASA, highlighted that the agreement will provide a strong platform for Vietnamese IT companies to expand their presence in India and strengthen global partnerships in software outsourcing, digital transformation, and digital services.

On the Indian side, Abhay Sinha, Director General of SEPC, emphasised the significant potential for collaboration, noting that India is keen to work with Vietnam to enhance service exports, foster business matchmaking, and develop concrete joint projects in the technology and services domain.

The agreement is also seen as a practical outcome of ongoing trade promotion initiatives between the two countries, reflecting their commitment to translating dialogue into actionable partnerships. Vietnam and India bring complementary strengths to the table – Vietnam as an emerging manufacturing and technology hub, and India as a global leader in software and digital services.

With electronics, IT, and digital economy sectors already forming a major component of bilateral trade, the MoU is expected to further enhance business linkages, drive innovation, and integrate companies into global value chains.

As both nations advance their long-term development strategies focused on digital transformation and innovation, this partnership is poised to unlock new growth opportunities and strengthen their positions in the global technology ecosystem.
