The leaders of the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Cyprus held high-level talks aimed at strengthening their strategic partnership and expanding cooperation across a wide range of sectors. The meeting between UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides focused on advancing bilateral relations and enhancing collaboration in areas of mutual interest.
Both sides emphasized the importance of deepening economic ties, with discussions covering cooperation in trade, investment, renewable energy, technology, tourism, education and infrastructure development. The leaders also highlighted the role of the private sector and welcomed initiatives designed to promote investment and business collaboration between the two countries.
The talks addressed Cyprus’ upcoming Presidency of the Council of the European Union, with both leaders expressing support for strengthening UAE–EU engagement and exploring opportunities for broader cooperation at the regional and international levels.
In addition to economic and diplomatic priorities, the leaders exchanged views on regional and global developments, reaffirming their shared commitment to peace, stability and dialogue. Special emphasis was placed on humanitarian efforts, particularly the continued delivery of aid to civilians affected by the crisis in Gaza. Both sides reiterated the importance of sustained humanitarian assistance and coordination with international partners to alleviate suffering and meet urgent needs.
The meeting underscored the strong and growing relationship between the UAE and Cyprus, reflecting a shared vision to advance strategic cooperation, address regional challenges and enhance humanitarian engagement through coordinated efforts and long-term collaboration.
