The countdown is officially underway for the 10th AFECA Asia MICE Youth Challenge (AAMYC) 2025, which is scheduled to take place on 6 November 2025 in Jakarta, Indonesia. This year’s event, which is widely recognized as a pivotal platform for cultivating emerging talent in the Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions (MICE) sector, is set to welcome a record-breaking field of participants.
22 teams from 10 Asian nations and territories will come together to demonstrate their creative problem-solving, business savvy, and industry enthusiasm. Undergraduate students must design, test, and develop a comprehensive launch event within a selected MICE component, such as an exhibition, conference, incentive travel, or meeting. Each proposal must position the country or region as an ideal host destination by highlighting its unique features and amenities. Teams will be carefully evaluated based on the overall business plan’s strategic strength, inventiveness, and viability.
The chair
of the organizing committee, Sandeep Gurwara, said, “This challenge is
more than just a competition—it is a platform for young minds to shape the
future of our industry.” His words highlight the event’s main goal, which
is to connect academic theory with practical application and give the upcoming
generation of professionals the necessary industry experience.
As part of the AFECA Convention 2025 and in conjunction with the 20th
anniversary celebration of the Asian Federation of Exhibition and Convention
Associations (AFECA), the event, hosted by the Association of Indonesian
Exhibition Organizers (ASPERAPI) in Jakarta, has particular significance.
“I am delighted to witness the 10th edition of the AFECA Asia MICE Youth Challenge, a milestone for an initiative I had the privilege of launching in 2015,” said Ms. Dilys Yong, advisor of the organizing committee and honorary president of AFECA. It still motivates up-and-coming artists throughout the area. The “record participation reflects Asia’s vibrant creativity and entrepreneurial spirit,” said AFECA President Dato Vincent Lim, who echoed this excitement and highlighted the region’s growing influence in the global MICE industry.
The competition provides substantial recognition for excellence. The Champion, First Runner-Up, and Second Runner-Up teams will receive cash awards, trophies, and certificates as prizes. In order to promote a variety of skill sets that are essential to the contemporary MICE environment, Special Recognition Awards will also be given out for categories like the Best Sustainability Idea, the Best Presenter Award, and the Most Knowledgeable Award. As these future leaders get ready to present their game-changing concepts, professionals and industry stakeholders are urged to stay in touch for updates.
