The Event and Entertainment Management Association (EEMA), India’s apex body for the events and experiential industry, has entered into a landmark partnership with FICCI FLO (FICCI Ladies Organisation). The signing of this MoU marks a significant step towards empowering women and expanding their opportunities within the fast-growing weddings and events sector.

The collaboration was spearheaded by Ruchin Kohli, Vice President – North, EEMA, and Shalini Beriwal, National Initiative Head – Weddings, FICCI FLO, under the vision of Poonam Sharma, National President, FICCI FLO. The initiative aims to create structured pathways for women to enter, grow, and lead in the industry. By leveraging FLO’s national reach and EEMA’s industry expertise, the partnership will provide mentorship, entrepreneurial guidance, and skill development platforms to aspiring women professionals.

As Knowledge Partner, EEMA will focus on event planning, artist curation, design, AV technology, gifting, and more, with the larger mission of driving inclusion, innovation, and industry integration. Samit Garg, President, EEMA, emphasized that the collaboration is a step towards shaping an inclusive and progressive future for the industry, noting that EEMA’s WeCare initiative has consistently championed inclusion, safety, and sustainability. The partnership with FICCI FLO, he added, will translate these values into tangible opportunities for women across the experiential economy.

Poonam Sharma, National President, FICCI FLO, highlighted that the alliance reflects FLO’s long-standing commitment to women’s empowerment through entrepreneurship and leadership. She noted that the collaboration would not only open new career avenues for women in the events and weddings industry but also nurture a new generation of changemakers and pioneers.

Adding perspective, Prerana Saxena, Chairperson, EEMA Wedding Council, underlined the potential of the wedding industry, one of India’s largest and fastest-growing verticals, where women remain underrepresented. She affirmed that the partnership would expose women to the wide spectrum of opportunities the sector offers.

Together, EEMA and FICCI FLO envision creating a more inclusive, future-ready events ecosystem while also influencing national dialogues around women’s safety, MSME participation, and sustainable practices.
