Koelnmesse announces a major expansion of its venue portfolio through a long-term collaboration with Design Post Cologne, a heritage industrial hall in Cologne‑Deutz offering more than 3,500 m² of flexible, character-rich event space. This strategic move allows Koelnmesse to provide customers and exhibitors a captivating venue just a short walk from its main trade fairgrounds.

This alliance is particularly timely as Koelnmesse prepares to launch idd cologne a new premium interior design event debuting from October 26–29, 2025. Designed to highlight high-end residential and hospitality interiors within both halls and the city, the event underscores Koelnmesse’s evolving trade fair concept. The format integrates exhibitions at Koelnmesse and cultural programming across Cologne’s urban core, including venues like Design Post Cologne, reinforcing the “urban‑only” theme.
Since 2006, Design Post has supported sustainable design dialogue and creative communities within its protected industrial spaces. Now, with this collaboration, the 3,500 m² venue becomes a permanent extension of the Koelnmesse grounds, reflecting a shared commitment to sustainability, heritage, and vibrant design.
