World Trade Center Mumbai (WTC Mumbai) has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dr. D.Y. Patil University of Agriculture and Technical Sciences (DYPUSM) to introduce industry-focused programs in trade education, entrepreneurship, and career preparedness. The initiative, powered by the World Trade Institute (WTI), aims to align academic learning with real-world industry demands.
This collaboration comes at a crucial time when the global business environment—including the exhibitions and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) industry—is rapidly evolving and calling for professionals equipped with global perspectives and practical skills. By integrating academic expertise with industry knowledge, the partnership intends to prepare students for leadership roles in international trade, business development, and event-driven economies.
Through this MoU, students will gain access to specialised programs that focus on trade policy, global market trends, entrepreneurship, and cross-border business operations. The curriculum will include hands-on learning through internships, industry projects, and interaction with trade experts, enabling students to navigate the complex dynamics of today’s global economy.
WTC Mumbai, a leading institution dedicated to promoting international trade and investment, will contribute its vast global network, trade intelligence, and expertise to enrich the academic offerings. The World Trade Institute (WTI) will act as the knowledge partner, curating training modules and certification courses that reflect the needs of the trade and exhibition sectors.
Leadership from both institutions emphasised the importance of nurturing talent that understands both theory and application. “This partnership is a major step towards creating a future-ready workforce that can contribute meaningfully to India’s trade, export, and exhibitions landscape,” said representatives from WTC Mumbai.
With India’s exhibition and MICE industry playing a growing role in economic development and global outreach, this education-industry collaboration represents a timely and strategic effort to ensure that young professionals are equipped to take on emerging challenges and opportunities in the trade sector.
