ES. How do you see the Evolving landscape of Navi Mumbai region & major development fostering the growth
Subhabrata Roy. Navi Mumbai landscape has evolved drastically in the last decade. It is an extended part of Mumbai. Turnkey projects include the Navi Mumbai International Airport and metro expansions, Atal Setu and other projects in the pipeline. These will reduce travel time, ease traffic, and boost business opportunities. New roads, bridges, and commercial hubs are also planned and executed upto speed. These projects will make Navi Mumbai a more developed and accessible city.
ES. What prospects do you see for the MICE industry in this region.
Subhabrata Roy. The development in Navi Mumbai market is exponential and the future is very bright with the evolving landscape. Large corporates are moving their offices in and around Navi Mumbai, the corporate movement to this extended part of Mumbai has developed for good. With some turnkey infrastructure projects, bridges, connectivity and state of the art airport that is scheduled to open shortly, more hotels will open in this region adding up to the already existing inventory in Navi Mumbai. Corporates need to now explore Navi Mumbai as the option with their MICE requirements due to efficient connectivity and large spaces.
ES. How has your property-Courtyard by Marriott positioned itself to serve the business travellers effectively.
Subhabrata Roy. The hotel has total of 15,000 sq. ft. of Banquet spaces to hosts various Corporate and Social events. We have 4 venues the largest one being The Grand Ballroom Jaymala Ballroom, Keshav Studio, Ganga Studio & The Box Lounge – ranging from 600 to 10000 sq. ft. in size. The Box Lounge is idyllic and a perfect space with scenic view and a well-stocked bar with labels from all over the world making it a preferred venue for Social functions like pool parties, birthdays, engagements, sangeet, wedding pre-functions & cocktail dinners. Ensuring all kinds of events and banqueting space to suit every budget and requirements.
ES. What message would you like to give to the Industry.
Subhabrata Roy. More than message, I would like to share that Courtyard by Marriott had already created a niche position in the Navi Mumbai Market.
In the upcoming days, hotels will play a very critical role to uplift the Navi Mumbai growth trajectory . We should ensure that everyone collaborates towards the sustainability drive. We are actively pursuing sustainability through initiatives like focusing on renewable energy, waste management, rainwater harvesting, green practices like sustainable packaging and more initiatives in the pipeline.
