A landmark collaboration has been forged to bring a new wave of wind energy conferences and exhibitions to Singapore, marking a major expansion of global renewable‑energy events into the Asia‑Pacific region. The agreement – sealed in Hamburg on November 27, 2025 – comes through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by Hamburg Messe und Congress, DN Media Group (RECHARGE), Enterprise Singapore (EnterpriseSG) and Singapore Tourism Board (STB). Witnessed by the first mayor of Hamburg and Singapore’s Ambassador to Germany, the MoU outlines a multi‑year schedule of wind‑industry events from 2026 to 2029.
Under the agreement, the first event will be the two‑day RECHARGE Wind Power Summit Asia‑Pacific, powered by WindEnergy Hamburg, slated for 2026 in Singapore. Subsequently, the three‑day WindEnergy Asia‑Pacific powered by RECHARGE will be held in 2027 and again in 2029.
The decision to locate these events in Singapore reflects the region’s growing strategic importance in wind energy – both onshore and offshore. Asia‑Pacific (APAC) has emerged as the world’s largest wind‑power market, with 607.5 gigawatts installed as of 2024.
Organizers expect the new conferences and exhibitions to serve as crucial platforms for industry stakeholders – from global developers and manufacturers to regional supply‑chain players and policymakers – to converge, exchange knowledge, and forge partnerships. By doing so, the events aim to accelerate the deployment of wind projects across APAC and support the region’s clean‑energy ambitions.
For Singapore, the collaboration is a significant milestone. The initiative aligns with the city‑state’s ambition to become a leading offshore‑wind hub in Asia. Through this partnership, Singapore hopes to leverage its strategic location, business ecosystem, and regional connectivity to attract investment, innovation, and global industry participation.
For Hamburg Messe and WindEnergy Hamburg – already globally recognized as the premier wind‑industry exhibition, hosting over 1,600 exhibitors and 43,000 participants from around a hundred countries – this marks their first big step beyond Europe.
As countries across Asia‑Pacific intensify their focus on renewable energy, such events could play a key role in shaping the next generation of wind‑power growth. With planned gatherings over the next four years, the collaboration promises to foster deeper cooperation, knowledge exchange, and industry growth – critical ingredients for driving clean, sustainable energy solutions across the region.
